Why MOD-LE-MODE?
MOD-LE-MODE grew out of the demands of running a business, travelling for work and life with a young family — and the simple fact that I am rarely someone who can leave the house with a tiny bag.
I needed something generous enough for a laptop, samples and the inevitable extras that come with a busy day, but versatile enough to move between work, travel, the gym, shopping, weekends and trips to the beach. What I kept finding were either structured, leather-heavy holdalls, very sporty bags, or smaller handbags that simply weren’t practical for the way I live.
I wanted something more relaxed: comfortable to carry, durable, easy to clean, made without animal-derived materials and feminine without feeling overly styled. Importantly, it also needed to be affordable enough to actually use — not a bag I would be precious about.
The lay-flat format was the part that really changed things for me. Being able to open the bag completely, see everything at once and know I’ve packed what I need removes the constant searching, unpacking and second-guessing.
It can leave the house full and come back empty, or quite often the other way around. Work trip, food shop, gym, beach, weekend away — it adapts.
That kind of uncomplicated usefulness is exactly what MOD-LE-MODE is about: making life easier to carry.

The ambition for MOD-LE-MODE extends beyond bags. Over time, I’d like to build a broader range around the same principles: organisation, versatility and adaptability — products that respond to the changing demands of everyday life and make it that little bit easier to manage.
Those ideas are the foundations of the brand and will shape where it goes next. There is a lot more I want MOD-LE-MODE to become, and I’m genuinely excited to see that journey unfold.
